I love the feeling of going into a new year. It’s the chance for new beginnings, a fresh start to hit the reset button. It’s so easy to be full of hope and excitement the first month in, and then the newness wears off and life kicks back in to full gear. What if instead of resolutions filled in earthly goals we focus on the heavenly ones. The ones where we receive the ultimate fulfilment. The one that sustains us above anything. I have had the feeling of defeat kick in all too soon on some resolutions, but I have realized that the goals I had were to me focused and not enough He focused.
“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for they are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” Galatians 5:16-18
He has a purpose for your life, and when your purpose doesn’t align with where He wants to take you, the detours are hard to understand and sometimes we lose focus of where we are going. I want 2020 to be the focus of the purpose He has for you. When we stop trusting so much in ourselves and more in Him is when our life changes. He doesn’t need us polished put together in the perfect place in life to do the job He has called you to do.I pray you persevere to get to the purpose He has prepared for you. Don’t get frustrated when you feel like you don’t know it all or understand it all because here’s the secret… you were never made to. Start exactly where you are and let His word be the light to your path. He needs your heart ready and willing to receive what He asks you to do. He needs you to be ready to drop you to follow where He takes you. There are going to be times trust me where you think He has lost his mind and doesn’t know what He is doing, but I can assure you that when you keep trusting and pursuing you will see the bigger picture. We must have an active life filled with faith to be blessed with His spiritual presence.
“For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.” Hebrews 13:14
I pray this year your resolution is to have your trust in Him grow deeper than you have ever known. That your drive to know Him more takes you on the ultimate quest. That you stop questioning who you are and what you are made for and trust in the one who made you. You find strength, guidance and hope in His words, let His truth speak to your heart, and let His truth grow from the inside out. When you fall short because lets face it you will, you let His grace cover you and seek His forgiveness and rise above because you are His daughter. Your faith becomes one of perseverance.
I pray that 2020 is the year of blessings for you! XOXO
